This is a truth that we too often forget. A challenge or struggle comes into our lives, and we run to every resource we can think of except the Lord.
We run to our wits, wisdom, and wealth. We pick up a self-help book or call a trusted friend and counselor. We look to doctors and credit lenders. And when all these resources fail to defeat our foe, we flee into various self-destructive behaviors, only making things worse.
But the battle is the LORD’s! And here is the good news. He’s never lost a battle, and he fights on the side of those who put their trust in him.
Lord, help us put our trust in you to win the battles that we face in our lives every day.
