Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.

We are easily caught up in what we can do. We are easily impressed with ourselves when we do important things for God and others. But that isn’t the most important thing to rejoice about. That isn’t the most important thing to be concerned about.
The most important thing for any human being to concern themselves with is whether their name is written in heaven. Do you know whether you will be welcomed there in eternity? If there is anything worth rejoicing over, it is an affirmative answer to that question.
