In business, we need to avoid the trap of contentment. In many other areas of life, learning to be content is highly recommended, but not in business. Here we must constantly want to be and do better.
If we get to the place where we feel like everything is just right and we are satisfied, it might be time to make a change. At that point, you will likely begin to regress. Putting your business on cruise control is not a good thing. It will run out of energy and die.
What your business needs are continual inputs from you and your team. It needs you to improve good processes, enhance product features, and tear down old and tired processes and systems. And then it needs you to keep doing that. There is no such thing as good enough in a growing and profitable business.
What your business needs from you is the frame of mind that says, “This is good, but it could be better!”
